Banger's Sausage House & Beer Garden

[79 Rainey Street]

Come kick off the weekend with us at Banger’s and enjoy a beautiful Austin evening under the stars. With its open-air beer garden, communal tables, live music, and enormous selection of local and craft beers (plus a few ciders for the non-beer crowd), it’s the perfect setting for a relaxed Texas welcome before the big celebration.

Since there’s no formal rehearsal event, we’re keeping Friday night wonderfully laid-back. We’ll be gathering from roughly 7–10pm but this is very intentionally a come-and-go affair — arrive when you can, stay for dinner, or simply stop by for a drink and head out whenever you’re ready. There’s no assigned seating or set meal; food and drinks can be ordered individually through the tableside mobile ordering, allowing everyone to order what they’d like, whenever they’d like, and keep their own tab.

Whether you make a full evening of it or just swing by to say hello, we’d love the chance to spend a little extra time together before Saturday’s festivities begin.

Nixta Taqueria

For anyone still standing after Saturday night, come join us for tacos, coffee, and a leisurely Sunday brunch. This colorful East Austin neighborhood spot takes its tacos very seriously, pairing house-made tortillas from heirloom Mexican corn with imaginative fillings that range from traditional to decidedly unexpected.

Having earned attention well beyond Austin — including recognition from The New York Times — while chef and co-owner Edgar Rico has gone on to receive a James Beard Award and Michelin’s Young Chef Award. Despite all the accolades, Nixta remains wonderfully casual: the kind of place where an exceptional meal can still feel like hanging out in the neighborhood.

Like our Friday-night gathering, Sunday brunch is informal and pay-as-you-go. We’ll be there beginning around 11am but there’s no need to arrive precisely then or stay for any particular length of time. Come grab a taco (or several), nurse yourself back to life, tell us your favorite stories from the night before, and share some hugs before everyone begins heading home.

Sour Duck Market

For anyone still recovering from Saturday night, come spend a lazy Sunday morning with us at Sour Duck Market, an East Austin neighborhood bakery, café, bar, and beer garden from the team behind Odd Duck and Barley Swine. The sprawling yard, picnic tables, pastries, cocktails, locally roasted coffee, and decidedly unfussy atmosphere make it particularly well suited to the morning after a wedding.

Sour Duck makes much of its food from scratch, with locally milled flour in the bakery, meats smoked on-site, and a brunch menu ranging from breakfast tacos and pastries to brisket chilaquiles and fried-chicken hash. More importantly for our purposes, there are Bloody Mary alternatives, cocktails, beer, and wine for anyone who believes the appropriate response to Saturday night is more Saturday night.

Like our Friday-night gathering, Sunday brunch is completely informal and pay-as-you-go. There are no assigned seats and no synchronized ordering: find a spot in the yard, scan the QR code at your table, order whatever sounds good and keep your own tab. Sour Duck is first-come, first-served and specifically designed for this kind of casual gathering, so feel free to arrive with us around 9am, wander in a little later, stay for one coffee or settle in for the afternoon.

Mostly, we'd just love one more chance to see everyone, compare notes from the night before, and collectively determine whether deciding to dance until 10pm was a regrettable.

Better Half

If you're not quite ready for the wedding weekend to be over, join us Sunday morning at Better Half Coffee & Cocktails, a relaxed all-day café just west of downtown Austin. With a big outdoor patio, plenty of room to linger, serious coffee, brunch, cocktails, wine and beer, it checks nearly every box for a leisurely morning-after gathering — including the very important one where nobody is required to be particularly glamorous anymore.

Better Half moves easily between coffee shop, neighborhood restaurant and cocktail bar, which means everyone can approach Sunday morning according to their own level of post-wedding ambition: espresso and something responsible, a proper brunch, or a cocktail and absolutely no judgment whatsoever. And in a small Austin miracle, there's even a sizable parking lot.

We'll plan to gather around 9am but this is intentionally another relaxed, pay-as-you-go affair. There's no program, no assigned seating, and certainly no expectation that everyone arrive at at the same time. Order whatever you'd like, settle in with us for a while, or simply stop by for a coffee and a hug before heading home.

After months — or, let's be honest, years — of planning one very big Saturday, Sunday is intended to require absolutely no planning at all. Just come find us.
